Eating Before Training

Most fitness experts would recommend having a healthy meal around 2 hours before you start your exercise routine. However, we understand this is not always possible and would therefore suggest a carb rich snack like a Banana or high fire cereal bar about an hour before hand. Also remember If you leave it too long between eating and exercising, your blood sugar levels tend to drop very low leaving you feeling a little lethargic, light headed, weak, dizzy or even pass out. Eiither way you will not get the best out of your workout as you will have no energy to burn up.

0n the other hand, by eating too much or too close to the time you start your workout may cause you to feel sluggish and uncomfortable, again this will effect your ability to perform and you will not get the best out of your workout.

After your workout you may feel hungry, try to steer clear of pigging out and eat something sensible like a banana or cereal snack bar.

Finally keep yourself well hydrated, drink plenty of water before and after you exercise, but remember you should also be having a few oz of water during your workout.
